Sibcy and Elias wed in September

Annie Kathleen Sibcy and Benjamin Wade Elias exchanged marriage vows at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Wallis House and Arboretum in Paris.

The bride is the daughter of James and Carla Sibcy of Winchester, and Elias is the son of Bruce and Lynn Elias of Lexington.

Dr. William Moore officiated, and music was provided by J.T. Wright.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a princess-style floor-length gown. The fitted bodice and train were embellished with rhinestones, lace, pearls, beads and sequins. Her floor-length rhinestone jeweled veil was held by a tiara adorned with rhinestones, pearls and Dichroic beads, and she carried a cascading bouquet of Escimo white roses and pink and lavender Alstroemeria interspersed with ivy, ruscus leaves and silver ribbon.

Tess Sibcy of Lexington, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, with Amanda Crowell of Cincinnati, Nicole Elias of Lexington, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, and MaryAnn Goucher of Richmond as bridesmaids.

Victoria Elias, niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl.

Brad Elias of Lexington served his brother as best man. Ushers were Jaime Hart of Covington, Martin Marczike of New York, N.Y., and Nicholas Walling of Lexington.

The garden wedding was followed by a catered dinner and dance in the Wallis House, headquarters for the Garden Clubs of Kentucky.

Assisting were Janet Pound, aunt of the bride, and Linda Taylor, aunt of the bridegroom.

The bride is a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, sociology and criminology from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green and a master's degree in criminal justice from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond. She is a unit supervisor for transitions at Two Rivers Community Correctional Center in Covington.

A graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington, Elias is a graduate of Wittenburg University, with a Bachelor of Arts in economics, and the University of Kentucky, with a Master of Arts in business administration. He is an investigator for the United States Department of Labor in Fort Wright.

Following a wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple are residing in Fort Wright.

a bridal shower on Aug. 12 given by Mrs. George (Rosemary) Carruba and Mrs. John (Sharon) Hall at the Carruba home in Winchester;

a bridal shower given by Mrs. Tim (Kyna) Koch on Aug. 19 at her home in Lexington;

a bridal dinner given on Aug. 26 by Ms. Tess Sibcy at DeSha's Restaurant in Lexington;

a bridal shower on Sept. 9 given by Mrs. Don (Evelyn) Norris and Mrs. Sue Neal at the Norris home in Winchester; and

the Sibcy-Elias wedding rehearsal dinner given Sept. 29 at Dudley's Restaurant in Lexington with Bruce and Lynn Elias as hosts.
