Mrs. Richard Scott was hostess to the members of the St. Joseph's Ladies Guild recently at her home, 26 Manor Drive.

Members of the Clark County Home Economists held their Christmas dinner party at the Springs Motel, Lexington. Prior to the dinner, the group toured the Armand Hammer Exhibit at the University of Kentucky. Hostesses for the December meeting were Anne Newman, Nancy Strosnider and Karen Westlund.

The Clark County Lady Cardinals junior varsity topped Madison Central Thursday in Richmond 35-31 on 17 of 31 free throw shooting.

Pam Devary, a senior at George Rogers Clark High School, wrote the winning essay in the 1981 Conservation Essay Contest, which was sponsored by the Clark County Conservation District.

Danielle DeBraccio, a fourth-grade student at Providence School, entered the winning poster in the 1981 Poster Contest sponsored by the Clark County Conservation District.

Secretary of the Department for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Jackie Swigart stressed compromise as the key to balance between industry and the environment Friday in her address to the Winchester Rotary Club.
