As long-time employees of the Danville school system, we would like for our community to know the outstanding job Mrs. Jean Crowley has done as chairman of the Danville Board of Education.
During Mrs. Crowley's tenure as Jennie Rogers Elementary board representative to our school, she attended every Site Based Decision Making Council meeting. While not only attending, Mrs. Crowley had excellent input and was a true member of our educational team. She was also available in the building on other occasions, including evening events, to support the students, parents and staff, as well as answer any questions.
Mrs. Crowley has always been well informed about current educational practices, has been up to date on research-based curriculum and has provided innovative ideas for the Danville school system. Just last year she participated in an open discussion at Jennie Rogers with teachers, council members and Mr. Rowland pertaining to a new reading curriculum. Mrs. Crowley had a clear idea of the vision of the Danville school system and was well versed in the reasons why she made certain recommendations.
