Henry John Estes
Henry John Estes, 93, Stanford, died Thursday, Feb. 1 at the Golden LivingCenter in Stanford.
A native of Whitley Co., he was born June 28, 1913 to the late Charles and Georgia Byrd Estes. He was a past employee at Paper Maker-Factory, was a member, Deacon and Sunday School teacher at Willow Grove Baptist Church, and a member of the Masonic Lodge #60 F & AM.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Donald Boyd Estes; and a grandson, Kelly Scott Smock.
Survivors include his wife, Addie Malinda McKeehan Estes; one son, Shelby Allen (Patricia) Estes of Newport, MI.; a daughter, Donna Sue Smock of Stanford; two brothers, Walter B. Estes of Pleasant View and Harold Estes of Georgia; one sister, Bobbie Jean Oakes of Pleasant View; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one step granddaughter; three step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 5 at the Willow Grove Baptist Church with Revs. Dale Denton and Brad King officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Masonic services were held on Sunday.

Carolyn R. Goodman
Carolyn R. Goodman, 81, of Huntington, WVA., died Saturday, Jan. 20 in West Virginia.
A native of St. Augustine, FL., she was born Nov. 12, 1925 to the late B.R. and Isabella Warren Goodman (of Stanford). She served 43 years on the staff of Barboursville High School where she taught English, Journalism and served as yearbook adviser, was a member of Cabell Co., WVA. and National Association of Retired School employees, the Democratic Women's Club, and the Madison Avenue Christian Church where she served as a Deaconess, and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 23 at Klingel Carpenter Mortuary with Dr. Harold E. Simones officiating. Burial was in Woodmere Memorial Park's Corridor of Faith Mausoleum.
