WINCHESTER ENGINEER NAMED TO STATE BOARD

Samuel R. Williams, a Winchester engineer, has been appointed by Gov. Ernie Fletcher, along with two others, to the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.

Williams works as the senior municipal engineer for the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government and has served as the Clark County surveyor since 2000. He also is a Navy veteran, having served as a lieutenant in the Civil Engineer Corps.

Williams received a degree in civil engineering from the University of Kentucky and is a licensed land surveyor and professional engineer. He is a member of the Kentucky Society of Professional Surveyors and is married to Mary L. Williams.

Other appointees were Benjamin T. Quinn of Glasgow and Richard K. Sutherland of Frankfort.

The State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors is made up of 11 members, nine of whom are appointed by the governor. The board regulates and controls the licensing and conduct of engineers and land surveyors within Kentucky.

PLUMBING BUSINESS OPENS ON DUDLEY STREET

Plumbing Solutions opened at 14 Dudley St. last week, offering repair services, video pipe inspection, line location, drain cleaning and other services. The business also accepts 24-hour emergency-service calls.

MANAGER PROMOTED AT PEOPLES EXCHANGE

Peoples Exchange Bank has announced that Clark County native Kelly Toler has accepted the position of branch manager at its Kroger office at 810 Indian Mound Drive in Mount Sterling.

Originally from Winchester, Toler is a 2000 graduate of Clark County Christian High School. She began her career at Peoples Exchange Bank in 2003 as a full-time teller/customer service representative at the Mount Sterling office. She previously held the position of assistant manager.

Tolar also serves as a youth leader for the Trinity United Methodist Church, where she is a member.

Toler and her husband, Josh, reside in the Mount Sterling area with their daughter, Alexa. Kelly is the daughter of Barry and Charlene Ragland and granddaughter of Imogene Conley of Winchester.
