Arts Center gets $7K grant

Arts leaders from across the commonwealth came to Frankfort on Tuesday to celebrate Arts Day and meet with their legislators.

Sen. Tom Buford and Rep. Mike Harmon presented a $6,659 grant check to Wilma Brown, executive director of the Community Arts Center in Danville.

The grant was awarded by the Kentucky Arts Council.

"Community Arts Center offers very diverse arts programming from dance to music to painting. It is a cultural hub for Danville and Boyle County," said Buford.

Habitat potluck dinner set

HARRODSBURG - The annual potluck appreciation dinner will be hosted by Mercer County Habitat for Humanity at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at Harrodsburg Baptist Church fellowship hall. Child care will be provided. Guests are asked to bring meat, vegetable or dessert.

Bert Green, executive director, of Charlotte, N.C., Habitat for Humanity, will speak.

Meetings

Casey County Fiscal Court - 5 p.m. Monday at the courthouse.

Perryville Site Based Decision Making Council - 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the school.

Danville Schools Alumni Association - 7 p.m. Thursday in the Alumni Room in the former girl's gym behind Danville High School.
