Mark Ebert: Thank you for giving a voice to my frustration with your column but my guess is that after today's column you won't be getting those long one-on-one interviews with Tubby Smith anymore (not that he's talked to you or any other columnist for years). Kentucky trails Florida, Tennessee and Vanderbilt in more than just wins and losses. They trail in talent or athleticism or both. Coach Smith continues to find talent that cannot run, cannot shoot and that plays below the rim. Expand the scope to pre and post season national tournaments and Kentucky still falls behind. When Kentucky plays a team where they match up reasonably well their game is revealed to be ugly and full of ineptitude and I believe that Smith sealed the fate for this season when he retained his staff from last season. This is what occurred to me last night: remember the night UK beat Syracuse in 1996? Rick Pitino took the microphone and said something to the effect that "...UK basketball belongs to the people of the Commonwealth." Well, Mitch Barnhart, after ten years of Tubby Smith the people of the Commonwealth are ready to give it back. We don't want it anymore.
