Stabbing suspect aquitted

A jury found a Winchester man not guilty of second-degree assault last week in Clark Circuit Court, stemming from an incident last summer.Angel Gonzalez, 30, of 120-B Strode Station Circle was arrested and charged with alcohol intoxication and second-degree assault after police were called to Cooter Brown's on Lexington Avenue on July 30 at about 1 p.m.

According to the police report, witnesses at the scene told police that Gonzalez took out a pocket knife and stabbed Alejandro Pacheco Segura, 30, in the stomach.

The alcohol intoxication charge was dismissed on a motion of the commonwealth. Gonzalez was represented in the trial by attorney William Elkins.
