Danville's Harvey honored for volunteer efforts

March 12, 2007

Regena Harvey, senior branch office administrator for Edward Jones in Danville, was recently honored for seven years of volunteer service with Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center.

Harvey provided 7,500 hours of on-call service as a hospital advocate to victims of sexual assault at area emergency rooms.

Cari Calico, crisis counselor for the center, highly regards Harvey, describing her as a very professional and sincere person whose commitment to the agency is amazing.

Harvey retires as a volunteer this year, and the center encourages others to get involved in volunteerism.

As a Heart of Kentucky United Way member agency, the center strives to provide free crisis-intervention services to victims of sexual assault and harassment.

The center has volunteers from all walks of life and professions. It provides comprehensive training and professional supervision to make sure all clients receive quality support from the volunteer advocates.
