Tates Creek rally edges Boyle

April 02, 2007

Tates Creek stole home in the sixth to tie the game Sunday, then got the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth to beat Boyle County 3-2 at the Tates Creek Invitational.

Down 1-0, Boyle took a 2-1 lead on Gary Allen's two-RBI single in the top of the sixth. Tates Creek, ranked 18th in the state, tied the game up in the bottom of the frame with a steal of home before winning it three innings later.

Mac Glidewell went the first six innings, striking out five and walking two. Cody Morris worked the final three innings and took the loss.

Glidewell had two hits and Morris and Jacob Enlow each singled for the Rebels (3-3).

"We're playing better. We're playing good competition. If we just cut down on a few mistakes, we'll be right where we need to be," Boyle coach David Camic said.
