Danville-Boyle Humane Society Pet of the Week for April 4

April 04, 2007

Tessa, a beautiful mixed breed puppy, is among the pets available for adoption this week form the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society. We aren't sure what breeds are in her, but she will probably be a medium-sized adult. She is affectionate and a bit shy.

Many other pups are available, too, including Spunky and Speedy, two chihuahua mixes; Ginny, a border collie mix; Maynard, a beagle-mountain dog mix, and several others.

Adults include Cleo, a very sweet-natured young adult black Lab who is already spayed. Cats include Pinky, a large tortoiseshell; Pavorotti, a tiger stripe adult; Sugar and Sam, both young tortoiseshells, and many others.

To adopt a pet: The adoption fee of $75 includes spay-neuter surgery, first vaccinations (including rabies), de-worming, feline leukemia test for cats, and Boyle County dog tag for dogs.

Shelter hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The next free obedience class will be at 1 p.m. April 14 at the Boyle County Fairgrounds.

And remember, unneutered pets contribute to the pet overpopulation problem. Please spay or neuter!
