Church briefs for April 6

Easter events

Immanuel Baptist Church - 1 p.m. Saturday for an Easter egg hunt for children up to fifth grade. Bring baskets. Easter worship service is 11 a.m. Sunday. For more information, call the church at (859) 236-2073. The church is at 1280 Faulkner Lane.

Crab Orchard Christian Church - Community sunrise service begins at 6:55 a.m. Sunday in the Crab Orchard Cemetery. Martin Bastin, who is serving in Iraq, will speak. A fellowship breakfast will follow at the church.

World Harvest Revival Center - noon to 4 p.m. Saturday for a resurrection celebration featuring The Glory Heirs, Nicolette Coontz and Kristen Brown. There will be free food, games and door prizes. The church is at 1116 Perryville Road.

Westside Community United Methodist Church - Community Easter egg hunt will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the church on U.S. 127 in Moreland. A community sunrise service will be 7 a.m. Sunday at the Hustonville Cemetery.

Rising Son Christian Church - 9:45 a.m. Sunday for an Easter service. The church is a 467 Whirlaway Drive, Danville, behind 84 Lumber Co.

Junction City First Baptist Church - 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Easter Egg-stravaganza at the church includes an Easter egg hunt for children through ages 11, door prizes for parents, and a hot dog lunch for everyone. The hunt times and areas will be divided into four age groups. Each child is asked to bring a basket. At 6:45 a.m. Sunday, Easter sunrise service at the foot of three illuminated crosses on the building's Hustonville Road parking lot side. There will be Sunday School and morning worship services but no evening service. The church is at 3860 U.S. 127 South, two miles from Danville's Wal-Mart. Music

Bethel Christian Church of Nicholasville - 9:30 and 10:30 a.m., spring bluegrass gospel concert and meal on the grounds. The singing will feature Two Journey, The Kentucky Duo, The Howard Family and The Moron Brothers. The church is located on Bethel Road, Ky. 1268. Perfect Peace Ministry - 7 p.m. today at Carpenter's Christian Church on the Harrodsburg bypass. Features The Masters Servants Quartet, Kenney McKinney and singer/songwriter Susan Hale. Admission is free. For more information, call Don Highbarger at (859) 258-9114.

Hope Independent Church - beginning at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, chicken fish and chitterlings dinner sale at 193 E. Martin Luther King Blvd. Call (859) 238-0192 for carry out orders.

Rock Da Ville planning committee - 7 p.m. Tuesday at the McClure-Barbee House. Anyone who wants to help with the Aug. 11 Christian music event is welcome.
