National College of Danville students win military award

April 09, 2007

Paul Hartwig and Warren Heath are winners of the Imagine America Military Award Program (MAP) scholarship which exists to aid thousands of military personnel each year to pursue a post secondary career education.

To appropriately recognize the important contributions of our nation's armed services, MAP awards recipients $1,000 to fund educational costs. The award is available to any active duty and honorably discharged or retired veteran of a United States military service branch for attendance at a participating career college. Students also must meet the career college's standard admissions requirements for the requested program of study. Students choose among hundreds of registered career colleges across the nation including National College.

Hartwig and Heath, both of Danville, currently attend the Danville campus of National College. Hartwig is enrolled in the computer applications technology degree program while Heath is pursuing a degree in the business administration accounting program.

The Danville campus, located at 115 E. Lexington Ave, opened its doors in 1975 and offers five associate degrees and eight diploma programs in fields of business, computer, and health care education to Danville area residents.
