LEXINGTON - The George Rogers Clark High School softball team scored four times in the seventh-inning to break open a close game in a 6-1 win over Tates Creek on Thursday afternoon.

"We played extremely well for it to be zero degrees," McCloud said with a laugh.
The Lady Cardinals (12-3) won their eighth in a row and got a solid performance from pitcher Emily Wallace, who tossed a four-hitter, complete with 12 strikeouts. Wallace walked just one batter and faced 26 at the plate.
Wallace also was productive at the plate with three hits, while Michelle Ladanyi laced a double and collected a pair of singles.
Morgan Woosley had a single and a double, Amanda Wheeler laced a two-bagger and a single, while Brittany Hatton had a pair of singles and Kayla Jones, Haggard and Kelsey Mitchell added one hit each.
