Too much Bush bashing

April 16, 2007

Dear Editor,

Normally I have an opinion about everything and readily share it whether it is welcome or not. As of late, I have sat in the background reading the opinion section, the only part I read, and remaining silent. I have noticed through this silence that not a lot has been said except for the same old rhetoric. George Bush this and George Bush that. I wonder where these same protesters of our leaders were when Clinton desecrated the White House and our country with cigars and Monica. He was hailed for his adulterous perversity and is thought by some to be a great president. Have they forgotten about this incident? Have they forgotten about NAFTA that cost thousands of Americans jobs.

Now, everyone is crying about the troops in Iraq. While I have the utmost respect for our soldiers, I at the same time realize that the U.S. Army as well as all other branches are completely volunteer. You have to enlist, there is no draft. That being said, our soldiers made the decision of their own free will, just as I did in 1988, to serve our country, knowing full well what might happen.

If you want to jump on a soap box and preach against something, at least find something with some validity. Terrorists do not recognize our potential withdrawal as peace. They will see it as cowardly and will act accordingly with violence. I wonder if your mother or father or maybe some other family were killed by terrorists, if you would be so unsupportive of our president's diligence to finish what he started. If you are so unsatisfied with our country and our president then go to Iraq and obtain citizenship, then you can be a part of what you are already supporting - terrorism.
