Matthew Robertson threw a three-hitter Tuesday to help Mercer County take control of the 46th District race with a 6-1 victory over West Jessamine at Harrodsburg.
Robertson allowed a lone third-inning run and struck out four batters to earn his sixth win of the season.
"He threw a very good game for us," Mercer assistant coach Wayne Davis said. "He was in control all night, and our hot bats kept going tonight, too."
Mercer (13-7, 2-0 district) extended its winning streak to six games and avenged a 10-3 loss to West Jessamine (14-7, 1-1).
The Titans scored all of their runs in the first three innings, starting with a leadoff home run by Evan Ethington. Ethan Ashford had a double and a triple, and Mercer had 13 hits in all.
