I would like to take this time to congratulate yet another restaurant in Stanford that has decided to go smoke-free. Arby's of Stanford has decided to be added to the growing list of restaurants in Stanford that are smoke-free. Effective April 24, 2007, Arby's will be a smoke-free restaurant. Arby's joins the most recent restaurant to go smoke-free, Dairy Queen, and is in the company of those with this policy already in place - BC's Pizza, Subway, Wendy's, Coleman's Sandwich Shop, Turtle Dee's Bakery, and McDonald's.
Congratulations to Arby's for taking this proactive step for the health of its employees and patrons. If other restaurants in the area are thinking of becoming smoke-free, but are in need of assistance or for anyone who has questions regarding smoking cessation or tobacco control policies, please call the Lincoln County Health Department at (606) 365-3106.
