Little League Roundup

The Giants held off a furious rally by the Reds and came away with an 8-7 win in Junior League action on Wednesday night at Lykins Park.

In other games, the White Sox dealt the Cubs a 10-5 loss in the Majors and the Bulls roared past the Bats in the Minor League.

In Little League Softball, the Cardinals escaped with an 8-6 win over the Blue Jays.

Junior League

Giants 8, Reds 7

The Reds scored four times in the seventh inning but it wasn't enough as the Giants held on for the win.

Scotty Satterwhite led the Giants with a pair of singles and a double, while Logan Johnson, Andrew Ware, Darius Skinner and Zach Means had two hits each, with two of Johnson's hits going for extra bases.

Blake Johnson laced a single and a double, while Hunter Maines and Brandon Miller each had a two-bagger for the Reds.

Major League

White Sox 10, Cubs 5

The White Sox scored five runs in the fifth and tacked on four more in the sixth to defeat the Cubs.

Ace Webster had three hits for the White Sox, followed by Blake Toombs, Derek McKenzie and Logan Lewis with two hits each.

Hunter Staton and Zack Martinez had two hits apiece for the Cubs.

Brent Stoneking and McKenzie combined for 11 strikeouts for the White Sox and Luke Sharrock and Staton fanned 10 batters for the Cubs.

Minor League

Bulls 22, Bats 3

The Bulls scored 14 runs in the first frame and added eight more in the next two to beat the Bats.

Jay King, William Hicks and Dylan Pritchard led the Bulls with four hits each, followed by J.L. Campbell, Joshua Hamilton, Aaron Phillips and Alex Clay with three each.

Trevor Robinson laced a triple to pace the Bats.

Little League Softball

Cardinals 8, Blue Jays 6

The Cardinals scored four runs in the first and held on to fend off a rally by the Blue Jays.

Tiffani Richards, Abby Puckett and Peyton Puckett led the Cards' offense with four hits each, while Haley Pinson chipped in with two.

Chelsey Justice, Millie Duty and Carolyn Lynch had three hits apiece for the Blue Jays and Jessica Winburn added two.
