Miller is a graduate of Texas Tech University, with a bachelor of science in agricultural communications. He is a board member for the Garrard County Farm Bureau and serves on the Garrard County Extension Council and Phase 1 Oversight Committee.
Miller resides in Lancaster with his wife, Brandi, and son Alex. The family attends Gilbert's Creek Baptist Church.
