NAMI TO MEET

WINCHESTER BLOOD DRIVE SET FOR JUNE 9

A blood drive has been scheduled at the Winchester Wal-Mart on Saturday, June 9, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Kentucky Blood Center Bloodmobile.

The need for blood is great, according to the KBC, which noted that every three seconds, someone in Kentucky needs a blood transfusion.

To meet the requirements for blood donation, the donor must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. Donating takes less than an hour and can be done again 56 days later.

Donors are also encouraged to bring a friend or family member when they donate. For more information call Bruce Maples at 1-800-775-2522.
