Highland jumpers taking a break

June 14, 2007

The Highland Elementary School Jump Rope Team stayed hopping this past school year.

The team, coached by Chris Mingo and sponsored by the American Heart Association, stayed on the go to relay their message of the importance of good heart health.

The 22-member team carried their message out locally by showcasing their rope-jumping prowess at halftime of Lincoln County Middle School and High School basketball games, at the Highland Family Literacy Night and PTO, at LCHS and LCMS, the Lincoln County Senior Citizens Center and the Stanford House Nursing Home. In addition, the team also performed at Breckinridge Elementary and Morton Middle School in Lexington, Paint Lick Elementary, Danville Montessori and in Lexington at the convention for health and physical education teachers.

The Highland Jump Rope Team also led the way in the school's American Heart Association "Jump Rope for the Heart" fund-raising campaign.
