Nicholasville Baptist to burn note

Nicholasville Baptist Church will burn its loan note on Sunday, June 24 at the conclusion of the morning service. In addition to a $90,000 note with Citizens Bank, the church spent an additional $40,000 in renovation projects. The money was used to replace the roof on its education building, repair water damaged walls, replace an old boiler furnace and chiller unit, added a new furnace in the office complex, added two heating and cooling units on the roof of the educational building and built a new fellowship hall.

Beginning in the evening service, the pastor will begin a 7-part series on creation versus evolution. The public in invited to attend. Evening service begins at 6:30.

Nicholasville Presbyterian to hold VBS

Nicholasville Presbyterian Church will hold its Vacation Bible School July 8 through July 12 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There will be classes for all ages. The church is located at 101 N. First St.

Perkins Chapel to host Men's Day

Perkins Chapel AME Church, located at 119 Scott St. in Wilmore, will host Men's Day on June 24. The Rev. Darrell Hayden from High Street Christian Church in Mt. Sterling will be the guest speaker at 3:30 p.m.

First Baptist to hold Vacation Bible School

First Baptist Church, located at the corner of York and Chestnut streets will hold its Vacation Bible School June 25 to June 29. A sign-up carnival will be held June 23 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Parents are welcomed. VBS is for children up to the eighth grade.

Gospel concert to be held in Wilmore

A gospel concert will be held June 22 at the Pavilion on the Downtown Green at 7 p.m.

Nicholasville Christian Church to hold special worship service

Nicholasville Christian Church will hold a special worship service on June 24. It will be a celebration for all children and their families who participated in the church's Vacation Bible School program which was held June 10 through June 14.

Special music, a photo montage and recognition's will be part of the service. Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. with the main worship service starting at 10:45 a.m. For more information, call 885-4311.

Two Journey, The Kentucky Duo performed at Mammoth Cave

Barbara Smith and Jody Brock, Two Journey, The Kentucky Duo, performed at Mammoth Cave on June 2. The duo also won the 2007 G.M.T.C. Duet of the Year.

Gospel concert at the fair grounds

There will be a gospel concert at the Jessamine County Fair Grounds July 7 beginning at 6 p.m. For more information, call 887-2947.

Reformers Unanimous to hold deer meat and fish fry cookout

Reformers Unanimous, a Christ-centered addictions program, will hold a deer meat and fish fry cookout on July 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church, located at 2420 Lexington Road. The night will feature food, preaching, singing and testimonies. For more information, call 858-2728.

First Assembly to have guest speaker

Zoe Crume will be the guest speaker at First Assembly of God on Sunday, June 24. The morning service will feature singing and the evening service will feature preaching. The church is located at 1701 Wilmore Road.
