Bobby and Larry Womack gave members and guests of Chapter 1828 a glimpse of their life in the Philippines. Jane Larkey introduced her daughter and son-in-law to the chapter on Tuesday at A Taste of China.
The Womacks are missionaries in Tacloban City on the island of Leyte. Their work includes supplemental feeding programs for children, health classes and clinics, and discipleship classes. They are funded through the Hope Foundation for the Womacks.
The meeting was called to order by Gayle Rees, chapter president. Bob Larkey gave the invocation and President Rees led in the Pledge to the Flag. Birthdays and anniversaries for June were recognized by Lila Omohundro. Donald Spillman announced that Joan Veazey will be the speaker for July. Mrs. Veazey is the president of NARFE Chapter 97, Lexington, and the chairperson for the NARFE Alzheimer's National Committee.
