Jewell Hatfield

1919-2007

LANCASTER - Jewell Dean Hatfield, 87, of Arnold Tower, Danville, died Saturday in Lexington.

Born Oct. 4, 1919, in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Oakley and Rhoda Poynter Peace. She was a member of Gilbert's Creek Baptist Church where she was a longtime Sunday School teacher. She also was active in the ladies auxiliary of Disabled American Veterans, and she loved to fish.

Survivors include a son, Jerry (Delores) Hatfield of Lancaster; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Hatfield of Lancaster; a brother, Russell (Ethel) Peace of Osgood, Ind.; a sister, Ruby Poynter of Crab Orchard; three grandchildren, Wendell (Karen) Hatfield, Sherry (Mac) Carter and Kenny Hatfield; and two great-grandchildren, Ben Carter and Kaylee Hatfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Everett Hatfield; a son, William Russell Hatfield; and a brother, Joseph Peace.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lancaster Baptist Church by the Revs. Morris Trayner and Ken Ward. Burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be members of the Bluegrass Stars Baseball Team. Honorary bearers will be friends and residents at Arnold Tower.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ramsey Funeral Home and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Victor Robertson

1941-2007

MORELAND - Maryland Victor Robertson, 65, of Middleburg, Fla., died July 26.

Born Oct. 24, 1941, he was the son of Nellie Phillippe and the late Emmitt Robertson. He was a retired truck driver and a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Anna L. Robertson; a son, Dwayne Robertson; three daughters, Vickie Robertson, Paula Grennell and Joy Martin; a brother, Curtis Robertson; two sisters, Dorothy Phillips and Elaine Crutcher; and two grandchildren, Brandi Robertson and Corey Grennell.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Bro. C.B. Carman. Burial will be in K.P. Hall Cemetery.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.
