Danville-Boyle County Humane Society Pets of the Week

August 08, 2007

Gordie, a cute adult Jack Russell terrier, and Jasmine, a 10-week old kitten with medium-length hair, are among the pets available from the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society this week. Gordie has a brother, Grady; both are very sweet-natured and weigh about 15 pounds. Jasmine is one of many kittens available. During our "Summer Fur Sale," adopt a second kitten free with the adoption of another kitten to the same home. The adoption fee has also been reduced for adult cats to $25 each.

Adult cats available include Abe, a handsome adult cat with medium-length hair who has already been neutered. There are also two 8-month-old cats, one calico and one gray and white, available. Kittens include four dilute calico females, a Siamese mix, a long-haired white, a tortoiseshell, and many others.

Dogs include Catahoula leopard mix, beagles (both male and female), and black Labrador retriever mix. Puppies include the following mixes: Jack Russell, basset hound, border collie, collie and beagle. The adoption fee of $75 includes spay-neuter surgery, first vaccinations (including rabies), de-worming, feline leukemia test for cats, and Boyle County dog tag for dogs. Shelter hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The next free obedience class will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Boyle County Fairgrounds. And remember, unneutered pets contribute to the pet overpopulation problem. Please spay or neuter! Watch for the opening of our low-cost spay/neuter clinic, coming soon!
