West girls' soccer sweeps Ryle in scrimmage

August 08, 2007|Mike Moore

The West Jessamine High School girls' junior varsity and varsity soccer teams defeated Ryle High School during a Monday evening scrimmage.

Due to the excessive heat, game time for the JV game was pushed from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The JV squad played two 15 minute periods. Victoria Hulsing's goal near the 8 minute mark gave the West JV team a 1-0 lead.

The Lady Colt defense made the score standup, as much of the match was played on Ryle's side of the field. Lindsey Williams' two goals led the Lady Colts' varsity team to a 4-0 victory Monday night.

West also received goals from Leslie Strong and Arin Gilliland. West Jessamine's regular season begins Aug. 13 when it travels to South Oldham.
