Man charged in altercation prior to shooting
A 20-year-old man who was in an altercation prior to a drive-by shooting early Friday has been charged with terroristic threatening and menacing, police said.
John Bess Jr., of Heather Hills, Apt. 47, was arrested shortly after midnight Sunday on the charges, said Interim Police Chief Tony Gray.
Bess was lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center.
Gray said no one has been charged with the shooting, which was reported by Teresa Ford of 120 E. Walnut St., Apt. 1. The drive-by shooting was reported after a verbal altercation that happened earlier at Speedway on Main Street.
