Dear Editor,
Your thumbs up and down column had a thumbs down on renaming the by-pass after John Bowling. Suggestions should come from a committee? Should The Advocate-Messenger have veto powers?
I feel the Advocate must have some ax to grind with Mr. Bowling. Here you have a man that served his community and county in elected offices, for what, 20 years? Do you suppose he stepped on a few toes if he really did what he was supposed to do? How many roads and streets have been named for political leaders and did you approve of all of them? In this instance, I will give the Advocate two thumbs down and feel, in bowling terms, the Advocate rolled a split.
