Jane Sutherland: Dec. 9, 1917 - Aug. 12, 2007

Jane Evans Sutherland, 89, widow of John C. Sutherland of West Maple Street, died Aug. 12, at her home. She was a Nicholasville native, born Dec. 9, 1917, daughter of the late Henry S. and Alma Collins Evans. She was a member of the Nicholasville Christian Church, Tri Delta at the University of Kentucky, the Lexington Women's Junior League, the Colonial Dames and the Nicholasville Clio Club. Survivors include one son and his wife, Peter H. and Sylvia E. Sutherland of Nicholasville, five grandchildren, Lindsey Elrod and her husband Todd of Bowling Green, Brock, Evan, Graydon and Grace Sutherland, all of Nicholasville, a great-granddaughter, Karis Sutherland, a sister, Lucille E. Evans of Lexington. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Harrison. Visitation was Wednesday. Rosary service was held at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery. Bearers will be Brock, Evan and Graydon Sutherland, William, Henry and Michael Evans.
