Clark's Lewis under radar screen

August 17, 2007

George Rogers Clark High School safety Tatum Lewis is currently flying under the radar, according to scout.com recruiting specialist Rob Gidel.

"I haven't gotten any offers yet, just a lot of letters right now" Lewis said.

"Most of the schools are telling me to get my grades up and play well this year."

Middle Tennessee State, Western Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky and Murray State have all made contact with Lewis to date, according to Gidel.

The 6-foot-2, 227-pound safety did not attend any summer camps, but was a Lewis was a tremendous 26 selection following his junior campaign in which he helped lead the Cards to an 8-5 record.

"The schools have told me that I am good enough to play on scholarship," Lewis said. "There is some stuff that I need to work on. I need to work on my speed."

With a solid senior year, Lewis could see his stock climb, especially if the Cardinals feature him as a marquee player.

Last year, Lewis played linebacker on the defensive side and tight end on the offensive side.

"I'm a hard hitter that is a team player," Lewis said.

Lewis is also known as a tireless worker.

"I work hard. I basically play every position on my team."
