Danville-Boyle Humane Society Pets of the Week for August 22

August 22, 2007

How could anyone resist these precious kittens and puppy? Ruby, Sparkles and McKay are 8-week-old kittens and Petie is a 3-month-old Jack Russell terrier mix. All are awaiting adoption from the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society this week. A variety of kittens are available for adoption, including medium- and long-haired kittens in calico, tortoiseshell, tiger stripe and white.

During our "Summer Fur Sale," adopt one kitten for the regular $75 adoption fee and take home a second kitten free! The adoption fee has also been reduced for adult cats to $25 each. If you're looking for a "lap cat," try Molly, a young adult orange tabby, or Whiskers, a handsome gray and white neutered male. Puppies include border collie mix, boxer mix, yellow Lab and many others. Adult dogs include a sweet, small beagle mix named Dixie, a year-old small breed mix named Ebony, who is already house-trained, and a gorgeous German shorthaired pointer named Benton.

The adoption fee of $75 includes spay-neuter surgery, first vaccinations (including rabies), de-worming, feline leukemia test for cats, and Boyle County dog tag for dogs. Shelter hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The humane society is located on the Danville 127 bypass across from 84 Lumber, phone (859) 238-1117. To view many of the animals available for adoption, visit www.homes4pets.org. Remember, unneutered pets contribute to the pet overpopulation problem. Please spay or neuter! Watch for the opening of our low-cost spay/neuter clinic, coming soon!
