Marie Blankenship: Nov. 14, 1924 - Aug. 22, 2007

Marie Boner Blankenship, 82, widow of Jesse Blankenship, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 22. Born Nov. 14, 1924, in Jessamine County, she was the daughter of the late Alfred James Boner and Ola Watts Nave. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Duke of Louisville and Jessica True and her husband Michael of Shelbyville, one son, Jack Blankenship and his wife Barbara Sue of Nicholasville, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a special friend and relative Edna Dale Stotts. She was preceded in death by one sister, Faye Harvey, one brother, Glenn Nave and a brother-in-law, Woodrow Harvey. Services were 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at Betts & West Funeral Home with the Rev. DeWayne Brewer officiating. Burial followed in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Bearers were Jimmy Jenkins, Bobby Jenkins, Damon True, Jeffrey Blankenship, Bobby Jenkins Jr. and Josh Jenkins. Honorary bearer will be David Blankenship. Visitation was Thursday, Aug. 23, at the funeral home. The family would like to send a special thank you to Royal Manor Nursing Home and Hospice of the Bluegrass. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Hospice of the Bluegrass.
