Youth

Grace Fellowship Church - Children In Action meets 7 p.m. each Wednesday. Boys and girls in grades 1 to 7 are welcome to join. Church is off U.S. 27 next to the Lincoln County Fairgrounds.

Special service

Calvary Baptist Church - 10:30 a.m. Sunday, the church will have one combined worship service. Worship will be held outside on the church lawn and will have a relaxed atmosphere; attendees may wear shorts and T-shirts. The church is on Lincoln Avenue, just off Hustonville Road.

Music

Monthly Southern Gospel Sing - 7 p.m. Sept. 7, Perfect Peace Ministry will hold its monthly Southern Gospel sing at The Carpenter's Christian Church, 1340 127 Bypass, Harrodsburg. Featured guests will be Kenny McKinney and The Hilltop Trio. Admission is free, however an offering will be accepted to help defray expenses. Speaker

Hope Independent Church - 11:30 a.m. Sunday, the Rev. Ricco Floyd will speak.

Homecoming

First Baptist Church, Davistown - 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Calvin Holloway of Second Baptist Church, Fairfield, will be guest speaker.

McCormack Christian Church - Sunday, the church will have its annual homecoming. Sunday school is 10 a.m., followed by morning worship at 11 a.m. A potluck lunch is planned for noon with special singing in the afternoon. Pastor Seth Adamson and the congregation invite the public to the reunion for a day of food, fun and fellowship in the historic church on the banks of Hanging Fork Creek that has been a place of worship since 1785. The church is located on McCormack Church Road (Ky. 1194) and Moores Lane in Lincoln County.

Pleasant Valley Baptist Church - Sunday, the church will celebrate its 142nd homecoming. The 11:30 a.m. speaker will be Shea Brown of Lexington. Dinner will be served.

The 3 p.m. guest speaker will be the Rev. Virgil Hill with his congregation, of Harrodsburg. The church is on Boone's Creek in Lancaster.

Waynesburg Pentecostal Church - 6 p.m. Sunday, 7 p.m. Sept. 3-7 and 6 p.m. Sept. 9, the church will celebrate homecoming. Speakers include Ed Carmen, Stanley Taylor, Eddie Whittemore, David Eastham, Larry Holbrook, Jason Coulter and Bill Bryant.

Fundraisers and good things to eat

St. James AME Church - Beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, the church will have a fish, chicken, pork chop and bake sale. For more information or to call-in orders, call (859) 236-3241. The church is at 124. E. Walnut St.

Second Street Christian Church - Beginning at 8 a.m., the church will have a yard sale, bake sale and car wash at Smith-Jackson Funeral Home, sponsored by youth group and women's fellowship ministry.
