The Hebron Lakeside Church held a celebration on Sunday evening, Sept. 2 in honor of the Labor Day holiday.
Bud and Ann Wyler volunteered their pontoon for rides on the Cedar Creek Lake. Ann was a former Sunday school teacher at Hebron, and she and Bud were married at Hebron 51 years ago. Their son, Paul, and grandson, Christian, made four trips to accommodate everyone who wanted to enjoy a breezy ride on the Wyler's pontoon. Those taking the boat the ride were able to see the original church site.
While the men grilled the hot dogs and hamburgers in 90 degree heat, everyone else enjoyed the cool comfort of the fellowship hall. We had a full house.
The meal was followed by an hour of gospel music for the adults and outdoor games for the kids.
The evening concluded with a fireworks display and everyone singing "God Bless America."
