Billie Garrison: April 19, 1922 - Sept. 4, 2007

Billie Louise Bullis Garrison, 85, went home to be with the Lord Sept. 4. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bradford T. Garrison. Born in Oklahoma City, Okla., on April 19, 1922 she was the daughter of the late James Warren and Anna Collins Bullis. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and Ruth's Disciples Sunday school class, a registered nurse having served in the Army Nurses Corps during World War II and several nursing positions through out her life.

Billie was involved in many civic organizations including the Red Cross, Jessamine County Adult Education Program and Jessamine County Homemakers.

She is survived by her five children, Dianne Lewallen of Wilmore, Linda Baumgardner and her husband Wayne of North Carolina, Susan Beaven of Nicholasville, Donald Garrison and his wife Brenda of South Carolina and Roger Garrison of Nicholasville, eight grandchildren, Jennifer Gillispie and her husband Craig of Wilmore, Brad Lewallen and his wife Trisha of Wilmore, Lisa Coleman of Florida, Ed Coleman of Ohio, Melanie Beaven of Nicholasville, Andrea House and her husband John of Lancaster, Chris Kirkland of Pennsylvania, and Donnie Garrison and his wife Bobbie Jo of South Carolina, seven great-grandchildren, Brett and Parker Gillispie, Clint and Nate Lewallen and Addison, Kylie and Bradford Garrison, one brother, Warren Junior Bullis and his wife Adele of Seattle, Wash.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jack Bullis and special son-in-law, Earl Lewallen. Services will be noon Friday, Sept. 14, at Edgewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Sholar officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Bearers will be Craig Gillispie, Brad Lewallen, Ed Coleman, Mark Kornechuk, Randall Rogers and Wayne Baumgardner. Honorary Bearers will be Ruth Morton and Dorothy Casey. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Betts & West Funeral Home and Friday from 11 a.m. until service time at the church. Special thanks to Council Oaks and Hospice of the Bluegrass.
