Brick & mortar memorial

September 18, 2007

Winchester Public Works employees, from left, Donald Lyle, Lee White and Pat Clark spread a layer of sand for a brick Memorial Sidewalk being laid in front of the Bluegrass Heritage Museum on South Main Street on Monday morning. Watching their progress in the background were museum director Sandy Stults and volunteer Chuck Witt. Witt places engraved bricks in the sidewalk. Anyone interested can purchase an engraved brick, either in honor of someone or in someone's memory, for $50 from the museum. The museum has 100 engraved bricks to go in the sidewalk. Contact Grace Witt at 744-8183 or Stults at the museum at 745-1358 for more information.
