Free music concert in Lancaster

There will be a free music concert starting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Public Square in front of the courthouse in Lancaster. The event will feature country singer, Tim Hellard of Richmond and Lancaster's own special guest, Christa Osborne and Justin Sebastain. The event is sponsored by the Irvin Group Realtors and Auctioneers of Lancaster.

Stanford Trick or Treat set for Oct. 30

The Stanford annual "Trick or Treat" event will be held at the downtown parking garage on Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. Call the Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce at 365-4118 to sign up your business/non-profit.

LCHS cheerleaders hosting pancake breakfast

The Lincoln County High School cheerleaders will host a homecoming weekend pancake breakfast at Applebee's in Danville on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 7 to 9 a.m. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased from any Lincoln County High School cheerleader or by calling Kim Grimes at 346-5054 or Lori Parker at 365-7526.

Waynesburg PTO to meet

The Waynesburg PTO will meet tonight (Sept. 20) at 6:30 p.m. at the school. Everyone is invited to attend. Character students will be recognized. Volunteers are needed for the fall festival. Please plan to attend.

Corn Hole Tournament to benefit United Way

A corn hole tournament to benefit United Way will be held Thursday, Sept. 27 at 5 p.m. in the Lincoln County High School upper gym lobby. Cost is $20/team or $10/individual. First and second place will receive complimentary boards. Double elimination. All students and staff are welcome. Desserts will be provided.

New Kids Homemaker Club to meet

The New Kids Homemaker Club will meet Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Lincoln County Extension Office. The craft will be homemade greeting cards. New members welcome. Call 365-9204 for information.

Veterans assistance officer to visit Stanford

A veterans assistance officer for the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs will be at the Buzz Walker Building on Thursday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to noon. Veterans and their families will be provided counseling and assistance in filing claims for state and federal benefits. There is no fee of any kind. Cowden reunion to be held

The annual Cowden reunion will be held Saturday, Sept. 22 at noon at the Eubank Park.

Farm Bureau youth contests

The Lincoln County Farm Bureau Outstanding Youth and Variety Contests are set for Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Stanford Baptist Church. Interviews for Outstanding Youth Contest will begin at 6 p.m. Applications are available at the Lincoln County Farm Bureau office.

Contestants must be a member of a Farm Bureau family and must enter the contest in the county where membership is paid. For more information, call 365-3604.

Crab Orchard Red Hat Society outing

The Crab Orchard Red Hat Society will travel to Shaker Village for its fun day in September. Lunch and a paddle boat ride aboard the Dixie Belle down the Kentucky River will be enjoyed by all. Car pool at Fion Lion, usual day and time.

Goat/Sheep Producers Field Day

The Lincoln County Goat and Sheep Producers Field Day will be held Sept. 22, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 6100 Ky. Hwy. 78, Stanford. Lectures, demonstrations, private treaty pen sale and BBQ goat! Bring a chair. More info at www.bwfarm.org.

There will be a Lincoln County Democrat Women's meeting Sept. 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the historic L&N Depot. Mayor Bill Miracle is the speaker. Come join us.

Tammy Norris in concert Sept. 23

Gospel recording artist Tammy Norris will be in concert at Stanford Baptist Church, 204 Church Street, Sunday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. Norris, a native of Lincoln County, has a national ministry that has taken her from the stage of Carnegie Hall to churches and venues across the country. Family Fun Math Night at Stanford Elementary

Do you panic when your child asks for help with math homework? Do you dread drilling your child on multiplication? If so, Stanford Elementary has something for you. On Thursday, Sept. 27, Elise Mandel, a parent educator from Lexington, will present a Family Fun Math Night for students and parents at Stanford Elementary. This will be a chance for families to learn math. The program begins at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria. Refreshments will be served. Please RSVP Karen Hignite or Paula Sowers at 365-3989 by Sept. 20 so that preparations can be made for the evening. This program is sponsored by the Building Bridges Family Resource Center.
