A person involved in a car accident early today fled the scene, leaving behind the car and an injured victim.
At about 7:15 a.m. a truck driven by Cecil D. Gross, 29, was traveling north on Ky. 89, just south of Old Ruckerville Road, when a southbound car crossed into his lane and caused a head-on collision.
Gross' truck left the roadway, struck a tree and overturned more than once before ejecting him about 15 feet.
The front left wheel of the other car, a 1997 Dodge Stratus, broke completely off, and its driver left the scene, said Clark County Sheriff's Deputy Paul Howard.
Gross was transported to the Clark Regional Medical Center, then transferred to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment, where he is in good condition.
