Police news: One injured in Springfield crash

SPRINGFIELD - A Perryville man was involved in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on Ky. 555, 1/2 mile north of here, state police said.

Billy Chance, 60, was not injured when his 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser and a 2003 Honda driven by Brian Lunsford, 29, of Lawrenceburg, collided. Police said Lunsford drove in front of the Chance vehicle as Chance was driving north on Ky. 555.

Lunsford was admitted to Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. His passenger, Eric Hopper, 26, of Lawrenceburg, was not injured.

Chance was wearing a seat belt; the other two men were not wearing a seat belt.

Thefts reported in Yosemite

LIBERTY - Authorities are investigating thefts of a dirt bike and a four-wheeler that were reported Saturday, according to Deputy Sheriff Chad Weddle.

Tim Stine of East Ky. 70, Yosemite, told Weddle that someone broke into his outbuilding and took a Suzuki 250 dirt bike. The door of the outbuilding had been pried open with a tire tool. The bike that was valued at $2,200.

The bike was recovered at 11:30 a.m. in a ditch behind a garage in Yosemite.

The bike was not damaged and was returned to the owner.

A 2003 Honda Recon TRX 250 yellow four-wheeler was taken from the backyard of Tim Hines, East Ky. 70, Yosemite sometime Saturday. It is valued at $1,500.

Hines also said someone took a Magnum S-3 amateur transceiver, valued at $400, and a CD receiver radio, valued $89, from his truck while it was parked near a bank in Yosemite.

Both thefts are under investigation.
