Shearers exchanged vows on June 16

Monica Bentley and Chris Shearer exchanged marriage vows at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at First United Methodist Church. The bride is the daughter of Stan and Terri Bentley, and Mr. Shearer is the son of Vernon and Karen Shearer, all of Winchester.

The Rev. James Williams officiated, and music was provided by Brandon Holder with Lauren Moss Gatti as vocalist.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a one-piece, lace-over satin strapless, A-line corset back gown. The lace was ruched asymmetrically on the bodice accenting the princess seam. Lace ornaments adorned the hem of the gown.

Her headdress was a matching cathedral-length veil, and she carried a bouquet of yellow Skyline roses and blue delphinium.

Tamara Bentley Caudill of Winchester, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Gloria Shearer of Winchester, Brandy Weyenberg of Hattiesburg, Miss., Rachael Barnum of Louisville, Caroline Pieroni of Louisville, Kristie Williams of Richmond and Cleda Miller of Winchester.

Steven Banks of Hopkinsville served as best man. Groomsmen were Travis Gray of Indiana, Donnie Johnson of Bowling Green, Brian Laird of Florida, David Odle of Fort Wayne, Ind., and David Caudill of Winchester.

Stuart Bentley and Kyle Bentley, cousins of the bride, were ushers.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at East Kentucky Power on the Lexington Road with Grant Chappell as disc jockey and Nicole Anaya of Louisville as hostess.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington and attended Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green where she is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta. She is a master stylist with Hair & Now Salon in Lexington.

The groom, a 1999 graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, is a 2004 graduate of Campbellsville University where he was a member of the football team. He currently is employed in outside sale for 84 Lumber Company in Winchester.

Following a Royal Caribbean cruise to the Bahamas, Cococay and Key West. The couple are residing at 401 Atrium Place.

The Bentley-Shearer wedding rehearsal dinner was held at East Kentucky Power catered by the Women of the Church with parents of the bridegroom as hosts.
