Teen to preach

* Parksville Knob Baptist Church - 6 p.m. Sunday, Andrew Hicks, 15, of Junction City, will preach his first sermon. The church is located on Ky. 1822-Johnson Branch Road. For more information, call (859) 236-0052.

Homecoming

* Indian Creek Baptist Church - 10 a.m. Sunday, the church will hold a homecoming. Ron Wesley will speak. Lunch will follow the morning service; bring a dish. Campground Quartet will sing in the afternoon. The church is located in Middleburg on Highway 3270.

* Redemption Road Church - 7 p.m. Monday through Oct. 21. Speakers are: Monday, Beth Stephens; Tuesday, Darlene Bishop; Wednesday, Phillip Payne; Thursday and Oct. 19, Tommy Bates. At 11 a.m. Oct. 21, Terry Lawwill will speak. For more information, call (606) 365-7682.

Missionary Day

* Pleasant Valley Baptist Church - 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Oliver Miller and congregation of First Baptist Church, Crab Orchard, will be guests. Dinner will be served. The church is on Boones Creek Road, Garrard County.

Music

* Cedar Ridge Baptist Church - 3 p.m. Sunday, Nehemiah Wilkerson will be in concert. The church is on Cedar Ridge Road in Lincoln County.

* St. Paul Predestinarian Baptist Church - 3 p.m. Sunday for a gospel concert featuring the church choir. The church is at 406 S. Campbell St., Lancaster.

* JESSAMINE COUNTY - A gospel festival will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Open Door Worship Center, two miles south of the Kentucky River. Performers include The Redeemed, Murphy's Echo, The Lances, Leipers Fork Bluegrass Gospel, Charlie Smith's Group, The Sonshiners and Cowan Creek Boys. Bring lawn chairs.

Celebrate Jesus Christ Conference set

A Celebrate Jesus Christ Conference will be Oct. 20 at Boyle County Fairgrounds on the Danville bypass. "Your Destiny to Freedom, For whom the Son has set free, is free indeed," is the theme of the program at 1 p.m. Free food and music is planned 11 a.m. to noon.

One purpose of the conference is to hear testimonies from those who have experienced freedom in overcoming alcohol/drug addictions and other problems.

Baptists plan annual meeting

The Rev. Travis Farris, pastor of Hedgeville Baptist Church, will present the sermon for the South District Baptist Association's annual meeting 7 p.m. Monday at Gethsemane Baptist Church, Quisenberry Avenue. Inspirational music also is planned. The Rev. Steve James is host pastor.

The second session will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church on the Danville bypass. A tour of the host church will be given. Inscoe Rue will be featured in concert. The Rev. Tim Mathis is host pastor.

Team reports and other business also will be addressed at the meetings. Food and fellowship will begin at 6 p.m. both nights, followed by the business sessions. South District is composed of Baptist churches in Boyle County, and a part of Casey, Garrard, Marion and Washington counties.
