Reeds exchange vows Aug. 18

The First Baptist Church, East Lexington Avenue, was the scene at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, of the marriage of Esther Simonds and James Edward Reed.

The bride is the daughter of Carol Jansky and Mark A Simonds I of Tacoma, Wash.

The groom is the son of the late Lula Mae Reed and the late William Thomas Reed.

Dr. John Owens officated and music was provided by Lindsey Hutchinson.

The bride, given in marriage by Leon Cavins of Winchester, wore a floor-length princess-style satin gown designed with a fitted bodice, v-neckline and broad straps at the shoulders.

Her waist-length gown of silk illusion was held by a floral and pearl tiara and she carried a bouquet of lilies and orchids.

Tori Wakeley of Winchester was maid of honor and B.J. Lamb of Winchester was matron of honor. Emily Hutchinson of Winchester was bridesmaid.

Haley Simonds of Winchester, daughter of the bride, was flower girl, and A.J. Lamb, son of the bridegroom, was ringbearer.

Will Turner of Winchester served Mr. Reed as best man. Ushers were Allen Hamm and Steve Yeary, both of Winchester.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the fellowship hall at the church with Teresa Begley assisting.

The couple are residing in Winchester.

The Simonds-Reed wedding rehearsal dinner was a cookout at the couple's home.
