Ed Mitchell Jr.: Dec. 15, 1944 - Oct. 10, 2007

Ed Wesley Mitchell, Jr. age 62 of Glen Dean, Ky., died Tuesday, Oct. 10, at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville. He was born in Jessamine County on Dec. 15, 1944, the son of the late Ed Mitchell Sr. and Lena Berryman. He owned and operated Junior's Roofing Company for 35 years and was a Breckinridge County Deputy Sheriff for more than 20 years. He was a deacon and member of First Baptist Church and chairman of the church's senior citizens program. Ed was a loving husband, father and papaw and enjoyed fishing, gardening and carpentry.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years Janie Baker Mitchell of Glen Dean, three children, Vanessa and husband Howard Robinson of Louisville, Vincent and wife Ashley Mitchell of Ft. Myers, Fla., Keith and wife Kim Mitchell of LaGrange, five grandchildren, Kailyn, Kelsey, Kolton, Ilynd and Kiyah five brothers, Donald and wife Mary Mitchell of Keene, Robert and wife Earlene Mitchell of Jeffersonville, Ind., Leonard and wife Patricia Mitchell of Irvington, Ky., Charles Mitchell of Phoenix, Ariz., David Mitchell of Louisville, four sisters: Edwina and husband Marion Taylor of Keene, Darlene Mitchell of Keene, Anna Mitchell of Indianapolis, Ind., Gladys Buster of Monticello, Ky., father-in-law, the Rev. James M. Baker of Nicholasville, two brothers-in-law, George Baker and his wife Dotty of Nicholasville, Charles and wife Patricia Baker of Louisville, three sisters-in-law, Margaret Robinson of Canton, Ohio, Mary and husband Rev. H L McIntyre of Lexington, Geneva and husband Yakub Oladele of Dayton, Ohio. Funeral services were on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 11 a.m. at Hardinsburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Louis Mitchell officiating. Burial was in the Hardinsburg Cemetery. Visitation was held on Monday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home.
