Letter: Thanks to all who attended AARP meeting

Dear Editor,

We would like to say thank you to everyone who attended our meeting to establish Boyle County's first AARP Chapter. A special thanks to all the elected officials that attended, pastors, and the Chamber of Commerce.

The local chapter will be a big asset to our community, and will include various local projects and help throughout the community.

The local chapter also will serve as an advocacy for the senior community. Anyone 50 years of age and older can be a member of the national AARP and this local chapter.

You are invited to attend our next meeting at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Danville-Boyle County Seniors Center. Meetings also will also be held in Perryville and Junction City in the near future. We encourage anyone in the community who is already a member of the national AARP to join us at one of our meetings.

We also would like to encourage all local churches and the deaf community to join us. We are excited and looking forward to helping the citizens of our community.
