Frankie, a chocolate Labrador retriever mix, and Bogart and Bertha, 10-week-old kittens, are among the animals available for adoption from the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society this week. Other adult dogs available include Precious and Paddy, both young adult black Labs; JoJo, a neutered 2-year-old Jack Russell terrier; Galahad, an older beagle; Cooper, a Lhasa-poo who also is a senior dog; and LuAnn, a Lab-rottweiler mix who has already been spayed.
On the feline side, we have Billy, a very laid-back, loving 6-month-old; Goldilocks and Queenie, medium-hair orange adolescents; Jingles, an orange and white 9-week-old male; Birdie, a slate gray adult with soft, medium-length hair; a precious calico kitten named Myrna; and a cute tortoiseshell kitten named Melanie.
The adoption fee of $75 includes spay-neuter surgery, first vaccinations (including rabies), de-worming, feline leukemia test for cats, and Boyle County dog tag for dogs. Shelter hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
