Incumbent Republican Gov. Ernie Fletcher and his running mate for lieutenant governor, Robbie Rudolph, will be appearing in Winchester on Wednesday morning as part of a campaign bus tour of the region.
The governor, who is running for office this November against Democratic challenger Steve Beshear, will stop at Granny's Kitchen on Main Street at 9:45 p.m.
Fletcher and Rudolph plan to remain at the location for about an hour, greeting residents. Other candidates for the Republican ticket may also appear with the governor, although their presence has not been confirmed.
Fletcher is running for his second term in office on a platform that includes strong opposition to gambling casinos, lowering taxes, growing jobs and making health care more accessible.
