Charles French: Aug. 12, 1934- Oct. 27, 2007

Charles Edgar French, 73, husband of Rose Yvonne Koontz French, died Oct. 27. He was born Aug. 12, 1934 in Dandridge, Tenn., to the late Kenneth Coile and Una Fay Whillock French. Charles was retired from the United States Department of Agriculture in marketing, an army veteran, loved his golfing and fishing and was a member of Lone Oak Country Club. Additional survivors are a daughter Kelly Rene and husband Chris Fitch of Nicholasville, sister, Charlotte and husband Curtis Woods of Tennessee, brother, Gerald and wife Vickie French of Tennessee, three grandchildren, Audrey, Amelia and Anna Fitch of Nicholasville and other family members. Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Betts & West Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Justus and the Rev. Bob Nelson officiating and burial followed in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Bearers will be Henry Wardle, Joe Strain, Don Lambert, Paul Abshear, Danny Stivers, John Blankenship and Willie Preston. Honorary bearers were all his golfing buddies.
