Asbury College celebrated its homecoming last weekend with three wins in front of large home crowds.
The men's and women's soccer teams and the volleyball squad all got big games from impact freshmen in the victories.
â?¢ The men's soccer team (5-8, 1-1 KIAC) faced conference rival Berea College in front of an attendance of 715 and won 4-1. The Eagles scored first in the 17th minute on a diving header from senior Jason U'Wren, who was playing in his first game of the season after missing most of the year with a knee injury.
Freshman Nick Kerhoulas scored his first goal of the season and senior Nate DeFreitas also scored to send Asbury into halftime with a 3-0 lead.
Six minutes into the second half, sophomore Brent McGee beat the Berea defenders downfield and got the ball to senior Manes Preptit who put the ball into the back of the net for a 4-0 lead. Preptit also had two assists in the match.
