First Southern preps for full-service branch

First Southern National Bank hosted a ground breaking ceremony for its new branch on Monday.

Construction on the full-service branch, located at the intersection of highways 27 and 150, will begin immediately, said Bob Alford, community president of First Southern Bank.

"We're excited about this new, centrally located branch," Mr. Alford said. "We want to make it easier for our customers and community members to do business with us."

Weather permitting, plans are to finish the construction and open for business by late May 2008. The new location will be include six drive-through lanes and an ATM. The branch will also house deposit and loan personnel. First Southern plans to close branches located on North U.S. 27 and at East Main Street in Stanford.
