Carol Russell Sims, 61

Carol Russell Sims, 61, of Danville, died Wednesday, Oct. 31 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

A native of Danville, she was born May 9, 1946 to the late Hearn "Buck" and Phyllis Douglas Russell. She was a homemaker, employee of FLW Outdoors "Pro Bass" Fishing Tournaments, past president of State Mothers Club of Kentucky DeMolay Association, and a member of Willow Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Duvall Sims, Jr. of Danville; three sons, Michael Shane (Monica) Sims of Danville, and Dr. Chris (Pattie) Sims and Marion Carroll (Tammy) Sims both of Stanford; three brothers, Larry, Jimbo, and Roy Russell, all of Waynesburg; five grandchildren; five nieces; and five nephews.

Funeral services were Nov. 2 at the Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford with Revs. Brad King and Johnny Thompson officiating. Burial was in Parlor Grove Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were the staff of FLW Outdoors Tournament.
